Jack Plautz, Jr.

Jack Plautz, Jr., 67, of Menominee, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.


Born July 26, 1956, in Marinette, to Jack and Lila (Malcolm) Plautz, Sr., he graduated in 1974 from Menominee High School and then served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seabee.  On Oct. 13, 1979, he married Cindy Grosso at Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee and worked at Marinette Marine for 27 years.


He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing with his children and friends. A talented woodworker, he shared his beautiful creations with his family. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and following his children and grandchildren in all of their activities.


Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Cindy Plautz; a son, Joe (Jenni) Plautz and a daughter,  Jenny (Eric) Sevon, all of Menominee; five grandchildren; two sisters, Patty (Leo) Schernick and Judy (Scott) Gleisner and a brother, Jeff Plautz, all of Menominee; two sisters-in-law, Arlene (Tom) Mathias of Green Bay and Linda (Mike) Grayson of Omaha, Ne.; two brothers-in-law, Doug (Kathy) Grosso of Interlochen, Mi. and Jim (Lynn) Grosso of Menominee and many nieces; nephews and friends.


Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Jim and Janet Grosso.


Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, June 13 from 4 p.m. until time of a Prayer Service at 6 p.m., with Pastor Kurt Bockoven officiating. Military Honors will conclude the service and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
