Hold Penny Drive

Students at St. John Paul II Catholic Academy in Menominee recently held a Penny Drive to raise money for the Future Fund children’s saving account program established by the M&M Area Community Foundation. Their week-long effort raised $1,372.48. “These students are rock stars, and we appreciate their enthusiasm,” said Paula Gruszynski, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “We challenge community members and businesses to contribute to the Future Fund. If students can contribute, everyone can!” Starting with the 2019-2020 school year, kindergarten students across Marinette and Menominee Counties have a $50 deposit-only savings account started for them by the M&M Area Community Foundation. Then, each year until graduation the Foundation adds more money to each student’s account. Savings accounts may be used for any post-secondary education or training upon graduation from high school. Donations to the Future Fund may be made online at www.mmacf.org. Checks may be mailed to the Foundation’s office at 1110 10th Avenue, Suite L-1, Menominee, MI 49858.
