Franzen is State Cross Country Ski Champion

Lilly Franzen is a senior at Southwest High School in Green Bay.  She is the daughter of Doug and Kim Franzen of Green Bay, the granddaughter of Wayne and Sandy Franzen of Lake Noquebay, and the great granddaughter of Helen Franzen of Crivitz. She is a member of the Ashwaubenon Nordic Ski Team (ANST). The Wisconsin State Championships were held over the past two weekends.  Feb. 4th-5th were the sprint championships in Middleton and this past weekend, the distance championships were held in Cable, WI. Lilly accumulated enough points to rank 6th in State. Last year was her first year on skis and she was 70th in State. Her ranking qualifies her for the Junior National Championship held in Fairbanks, Alaska in March. Lilly's efforts, along with stellar performances from her teammates, garnered ANST a second place team finish in State.
