Debra K. Wormwood

Debra Kay Wormwood, 65, formerly of Sheboygan, formerly Menominee, Mi., passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee. 

Born July 22, 1956 in Stambaugh, Mi., to the late John W. and Pauline (Goessinger) Wormwood., she graduated from Menominee High School in 1974 and later received a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Michigan University in 1978. She worked as an Emergency Dispatcher for the Michigan State Police from 1978 until 1995 when she became the Director of Menominee County 911 system until retiring in 2017. 

She enjoyed playing cribbage and cards with family and friends and was a proud member of the Northernaires Drum and Bugle Corp. She moved to Sheboygan in 2020 to be closer to and spend more time with her grandson Jack. 

Survivors include a son, John M. (Anna) Wormwood of Howards Grove; a grandson; four sisters, Rita (Bart) Bartholomew of West Bend, Linda (James) Vivian of Richardson, Tx. And Susan (Charles) Mars and Dorothy (Tom) Poquette, both of Menominee; 10 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 10 from 4 p.m. to  6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund was established in her name. Expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to her son, John M. Wormwood.
