Dale E. Powers

Dale Edward Powers, died peacefully at Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin on December 23, 2022, from complications following 2 Covid strokes in 2020 and health issues from an initial stroke in 2008. His loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Patricia Powers was at his side.

Dale was born on June 22, 1954 at Marinette General Hospital to Jack and Charlotte Powers, of Peshtigo, Wisconsin. He arrived several minutes prior to his identical twin, Dean Powers. Dale graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1972 and began work with United Parcel Service which led to a long career in transportation management. He retired from ABF Transportation in 2011.

He was a man of character, whose priorities were family and friends. He was an energetic, gregarious, and generous husband, son, brother, in-law, cousin, uncle and friend. He loved being active in the outdoors.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dean and a sister, Leila.

Dale is survived by his wife, Patricia (St. Cyr); brother John (Lorraine) Powers; a sister, Donna (Wayne) Jensen; brother-in-law, Terry Wanke and sister-in-law, Debbie (Scott McCrackin), Powers; sisters-in-law, Mary (Dennis) Wilt, Margaret (Jon) Martin and Barbara St. Cyr; brother-in-law Kevin (Sylvia) St. Cyr; caretakers and dear friends, Amanda Wallenfang and Stephanie Wolfe and numerous cousins.

He was a proud Uncle to Wendy (Richard Lau) Jensen, Sheila (Jason) Keaton, Nathan Powers, Alex St. Cyr, Katy St. Cyr, Dan, Martin, Christen Martin, Emily (Griffin Wurtz) St. Cyr Sarah (Austin Miller) St. Cyr, and Great-Uncle to Ivy and Fiona Keaton.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of the Green Bay Aurora and Madison SSM medical communities of nurses, specialists, and therapists who in his recovery journey to the end, with special thanks to doctors Z. Darkhabani, J. Phelan, and G. Mihailescu, R. Hass who extended their excellent care with compassion, warmth and respect.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at The Stadium View Banquet Hall, 1963 Holmgren Way, Green Bay, Wi. on January 7, 2023 starting at 1 p.m., followed by a luncheon. Those attending are encouraged to take a page from Dale’s book and be comfortable in jeans, Badger or Packer wear.
