Crivitz Committees To Air Ordinance Changes Feb. 8

The Administrative and Development and Operations committees of the Village of Crivitz Board of Trustees will hold back to back meetings on Wednesday, Feb. 8, beginning at 5 p.m. in the board room of the Crivitz Village Hall.

Items scheduled for discussion and possible recommendations at the 5 p.m. Administrative and Development Committee meeting include the Highway Zoning Ordinance, Public Intoxication Ordinance,  Garbage Ordinance, Village Accounting Processes, role of the Village Administrator, Food Truck Ordinance, budget review, Conditional Use Permits, and Operators Licenses, along with correspondence, and miscellaneous purchases of non-routine items costing more than $75.

Agenda for the Operations Committee meeting, which follows at 6 p.m., includes Sewer and  Water Digitized Mapping, Municipal Vehicle Replacement Schedule, Don Brooks Park, traffic sign at Louisa and Rosa streets,  Police Chief Report, Budget Review, correspondence relative to the Operations Committee, and miscellaneous purchases of non-routine items costing more than $75.

The VFW request for a conditional use permit that will allow them to build a garage adjacent to the American Legion building on Hwy. 141 was discussed at committee meetings in January and then at the village board’s regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Board members appeared willing to approve the conditional use permit, but were advised it cannot be issued until some state zoning requirements are met. Those requirements include notifying all property owners within 100 feet of the proposed building and then holding a public hearing to consider any concerns neighbors may have before the permit is approved.

The board also approved some changes to the employee handbook in accord with discussions at previous committee meetings.
