Crivitz Board Has Long Agenda For Sept. 28 Meet

Committees of Crivitz Village Board put in a long evening of discussion and decisions on Wednesday, Sept. 14 in preparation for the monthly Village Board meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Agenda for that meeting includes a report on the 2021 audit, contracting for digitization of village ordinances so they are available online, a League of Municipalities resolution honoring retiring employees Curt Witynski and Gail Sumi; street use for the Witches’ Day Out Wine/Beer Walk, including pickup with a hay wagon; Handbook Changes; the R & R Assessing Contract; WRS Invoice; River Ridge Parking Lot; Softball Field Repair; Trick or Treat Hours; Police Equipment; Fire Department Equipment; a contract with Dama; and a permit for the Homecoming Parade.
After completing other business the board will go into closed session to discuss an employee’s compensation.
There is also action expected on renewal of the contract with Crivitz Rescue Squad.
At the committee meetings firefighters Jeff Bonikowske and Mark Vander presented an introduction to the long awaited on short and long-term needs of the Fire Department. For starters, the committees agreed to recommend that the village approve providing the Fire Department with $20,000 at this time to meet some of its immediate needs, and planning continue on the rest of the department’s long-range plan.
Among priorities listed on the plan were replacement of a fire engine that has exceeded its recommended life span, replacement of radios and pagers, replacement of SCBA air packs, development of a memorandum of understanding with the DNR for use of the rescue boat, and continuing to use and enhance the auto-page approach and implement a cooperative memorandum of understand with the Town of Middle Inlet Fire Department.
