CBA Announces Persons of the Year

Crivitz Business Association announces the recipients of their annual " Persons of the Year' Awards. These outstanding people will be honored at the annual CBA banquet on April 11th, at 6pm at Rene's Dining Room. Everyone is welcome to attend. Cost is $30 and reservations can be sent to CBA, Box 202, Crivitz.

 

Youth Category-Abrielle Bauer-Abby is 'just an all around great kids' according to her nominator, Rebecca Zillges, she volunteers at multiple things, and not just when it is part of a group, even in the summers. Abby is a junior at Crivitz High School and one of three classmates with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Abby is involved in 4-H, HiQ Quiz Bowl, student council, honor society, softball, the new trap shooting team as well as numerous things at her church.

 

Adult Category-Marilyn Padgett, the soon to retire clerk/treasurer for the village of Crivitz for over 30 years. In nominating Marilyn, John Deschane, former village president stated, "Marilyn gives so much to this community, both professionally and in a volunteer capacity". Marilyn volunteers for many special projects including The Wall That Heals, the Veteran's Memorial and Project Bandstand.

 

Educator-The Crivitz Elementary School Early Childhood Special Education team includes Stacey Caine, Elke Kobs, Aimee Barley, Shawn Christensen, Maria Knepel, and Laura Toerck. Nominated by Ginger Deschane who states she is amazed at what this team can accomplish with our special needs kids.

 

Business Category-Brenda and Scott Busick from Gateway Bar and Grill were nominated because of all that they give back to the community. Many nonprofit groups have been the recipients of their donations, especially thru this pandemic. Their weekly meat raffles over the summer of 2021 were a huge help to groups that were not able to do their normal fundraising due to pandemic restrictions.
