Burdelle E. Rust

Burdelle Ernest Rust, 83, of Beecher, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday March 15, 2023 at home.

Born July 15, 1939 in Manitowoc, to the late Fred and Stella (Huhn) Rust, he grew up on the family farm and attended school at Spring Valley and Kiel Schools. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He married Sandra Kohlmeier on Jan.17, 1959 and they later moved to Racine, where he worked for Case Co. They then moved to Fond du Lac  where he worked for the Public Works Department for 28 years, retiring in 2001 when they relocated to Pembine.

He was involved in the Eagles, American Legion Post #461 and volunteered a lot of time to Karen’s Food Pantry. He had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, watching wildlife and also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his son and riding his ATV.

Survivors include four children, Donald Rust of Poynette, Todd (Debbie) Rust of Waupun, Kim (Wayne) Culver of Menasha and Jodi Ori of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Darryl.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; a son, Eugene; a foster daughter, Lolly Bohn; four brothers, Lloyd, Dallas, Eugene and Dale and three sisters, Charmaine, Verla Belle and Danielgene.

Visitation will be held at Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee on Saturday, April 1 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Paul Hueter officiating. Full Military Honors will be provided by Pembine American Legion Post #461. In Lieu of Flowers, memories of donations are appreciated to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp.
