Bernice Baranek

Bernice (Torzala) Baranek, 96, of Crivitz passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023.

Born Sept. 1, 1926 in Crivitz, she was known for her fun-loving personality and love for the Lord and her family. She married the love of her life Joe Baranek on Oct. 2, 1950 at St. Mary Church in Crivitz and they had 60 years of marriage until he preceded her in death Nov. 19, 2010. The couple lived in Crivitz, where they owned and operated Baranek’s Dairy Farm until retirement.

Her love for people was infectious. She enjoyed BINGO, gardening, hummingbirds and volunteering for Elderly Services, but mostly had a heartfelt love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but most importantly for her Heavenly Father.

Surviving are 10 children, Patricia (Brad) Weber, Michael (Mary) Baranek, Ted Baranek (Jan Klotz), Charles (Liane) Baranek, Richard (Lorie) Baranek, James (Cheryl) Baranek, Joe Jr. (Julie) Baranek, Eileen (Steve) Lunning, Pete Baranek (Mary Ann Barry) and Paul (Julie) Baranek. 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, Sept. 9 at St. Mary’s Church in Crivitz from 9 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Rev. David Schmidt will officiate, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
