Barton A. Libal

Barton A. Libal (Bart) of Menomonee Falls, Wi., formerly of Marinette, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, following a brief illness post-surgery. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Bart was born on April 1, 1938, to Lucille and Sherburn. Despite the early loss of his parents, he cultivated a profound connection with his siblings: Candace, Deborah, Evadne, and Arlyn. The memories they created together remained a cherished part of Bart's life.
Bart served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963, where he was stationed in Korea as part of the American Forces Korean Network Unit. During this time, he took great pride in his role in building a television station and skillfully managing the 1962 Bob Hope Christmas show. His commitment to broadcasting continued for over four decades as a technical director at WITI Fox 6. Beyond his professional pursuits, Bart was a devoted ham radio operator, maintaining his call sign, W9APH, throughout his lifetime.
His dedication also extended to his faith, as he was a cherished member of Fox Point Lutheran Church, with prior affiliation to Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette. On June 9, 1979, Bart embarked on a remarkable journey when he married June (Rudolph). Their union brought forth a beautiful family, including son Charles (Cassandra). Bart took immense joy in his role as a beloved grandfather to Sean and a special uncle to his nieces and nephews. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and his influence will continue to guide them.
Bart's zest for life was as infectious as his laughter. He lived every moment to the fullest, brightening the lives of those he met with his sense of humor. As we bid farewell, we find solace in knowing that Bart's memory will forever reside in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private Celebration of Life in honor of Bart will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette.
