Alvin R. Graetz

Alvin R. Graetz, 86, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home in Pound, Wi.

He was born on July 11, 1937, to the late Loren and Florence (Rydell) Graetz of Pound, WI. Alvin married Theresa Mattrisch in 1957. He operated a farm in Pound for many years and worked at Graetz Manufacturing.

He loved the Lord and prayed and searched the scriptures daily. He was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the Choir, was a Deacon in the Church and loved Christian music.

Alvin enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, gardening: especially potatoes, hunting and watching wildlife at the lake. He took pleasure in the simple things in life. He was well known in the community and liked to stop in and talk and share stories with all his neighbors. Alvin also spent time with his friends and family at his second home in Clinton, AR for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife; Theresa, three sons; Jeff (Kit) Graetz of Oxford, AR, Allen (Vicky) Graetz of Pound, WI, Eric (Michelle) Graetz of Horseshoe Bend, AR, two sisters; Audrey (Ken) Joslin of Boyceville, WI and Carol Pagel of Springfield, MO. Alvin is further survived by thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jerry Pagel.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 235 E. Main St. Coleman, WI, 54112. Visitation will be held from 3 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., with the funeral service to begin at 6:00 P.M. Pastor Dennis Schmidt and Joe Deen Stidman will be officiating.
