Alice L. Jeske

Alice L. (Brabender) Jeske, beloved mother and grandmother, age 94, died peacefully at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence in DePere with her daughters at her side Sunday evening, February 12, 2023.

Alice was born on July 27, 1928, daughter of the late Howard Sr. and Eleanor (Limberg) Brabender. A graduate of Peshtigo High School class of 1946, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Walter Jeske Jr., on February 19, 1949.

Alice worked at Fort Howard Paper until starting a family and raising her two loving daughters. Later she worked at Fabry Glove sewing until her retirement.

By far the best job she ever had was babysitting her grandchildren. Her love and the bond that was created never wavered right up until the day she passed. She had just celebrated Christmas with her entire family when her grandchildren were all home from around the globe (Australia, Los Angeles and Chicago). She was the happiest when she was with family.

Alice loved traveling, spending summers at the cabin in Silver Cliff and snowmobiling in the winter. She was a huge Brewers fan and celebrated her last three out of four birthdays at the game, tailgating, cheering for her favorite players and arguing with Cub fans. She never missed a game on TV.

Alice is survived by her beloved daughters, Deena Jepson and Jodi (Bryan) Jonet; by three grandchildren, Jon-Erik Jepson (Jade), Michael Jepson and Jaci Jepson (Frankie); by one sister Nancy Abel; by two brothers, Jim (Ruth) Brabender and John (Karla) Brabender; by three sisters-in-law, Barbara Brabender, Joyce (Paul) Nesberg and Pat Jeske; and a brother-in-law, Bill Gaedke.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Toby Brabender and brother-in-law, Roland Abel.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 13th  from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 12:30 P.M. at the Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home (331 S. Ellis Ave. Peshtigo). Pastor Kim Swenson officiating. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
