Alice A. Anderson

Alice Anna Anderson, 83, passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba, after a brief illness.

Born May 2, 1940 in Menominee, Mi., along with a twin brother, Edwin to Arthur E. and Anna (Durow) Anderson of Wallace, Mi., she graduated from Stephenson High School in 1958 and worked as a secretary at the Menominee County Court House for a short time. She attended Northern Michigan University and then worked at the Bank of Stephenson, retiring in 1997.

An avid reader and crossword puzzle solver, she also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, knitting and sharing her talents by making Barbie doll clothes, hats and mittens for nieces and nephews and for those in need in the community. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved to remember people with cards and had a heart for mission work and missionaries.

She took care of her father during his illness and eventually death. A lifelong member of Bethel Mission Church, she faithfully attended there, participated in Ladies Aid and Covenant Women and served as Financial secretary for many years.

Survivors include three brothers and a sister, Elton (Joyce) Anderson of Lombard, Ill., Everett Anderson of Menominee, Paul (Carol) Anderson of Wallace and Martha Anderson of Geneseo; a sister-in-law, Jean Anderson of Columbia, S,C.; 12 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur E. and Anna (Durow) Anderson,; a twin brother, Edwin Anderson;  sister-in-law, Joan Anderson and a nephew, Brian Anderson.

Visitation will be held at Bethel Mission Covenant Church in Wallace on Friday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with  Pastor Tim Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery in Wallace.
