Bulldogs Set For Season With Strong Running Game, Improved Numbers

After a five-game 2020 season that saw the Peshtigo Bulldogs pick up just one win and end the season with 17 players, the Bulldogs are turning the page.
Peshtigo enters the 2021 season with a 33-player roster, nine games on the schedule and a renewed sense of optimism.
Peshtigo coach Jeff Bayerl likes to run the ball, and he thinks his team is going to be a lot better in that department this year, with a more experienced line and a couple of good ball-carriers.

 The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is encouraging people from all walks of life to give hunting a try this year and sign up for a hunter safety course. It’s never too early to think about completing your hunter education course or retaking it as a refresher.
More than 20,000 people take hunter education courses in Wisconsin each year. Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1973, is required to have a hunter education certification to purchase a hunting license, unless hunting under the Mentored Hunting Law. 

Lake Michigan Whitefish Virtual Meeting Aug. 31

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be developing new regulations for the lake whitefish commercial industry. The DNR will host a virtual public meeting to hear from anyone interested in Lake Michigan whitefish and discuss the new permanent commercial whitefish rules package.
This will be the sixth of several public meetings held since August 2020 to collect feedback on the Lake Michigan whitefish fishery.

Hunters With Disabilities Sign Up for Gun Deer Hunt By September 1

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds eligible disabled hunters hoping to participate in the 2021 gun deer hunt for hunters with disabilities to contact a hunt sponsor to sign up before Sept. 1, 2021.

Gun, Knife, Archery Show Sept. 12 at REC

The Military 20 Year Club will hold a Gun, Knife and Archery Show on Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Marinette Community REC Center, 2501 Pierce Ave., Marinette. Doors are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p .m. Admission is $5, with children under 12 are free. No alcohol is allowed. Food and beverages will be available from the concession stand. 

Annual Chinookie Slam Fishing Tourney Slated for Aug. 21st

The 14th Annual Chinookie Slam fishing tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 21st on open waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan.  This one-day shootout style tournament targets Trout and Salmon only and will be limited to 20 boats.
