The shortest day of this year has come and gone. Can’t really tell it yet, but the days are already getting longer by about two minutes each day. On Dec. 21, the sun rose over TIMESLand at 7:25 a.m. and set at 4:14 p.m., so it was above the horizon for eight hours and 49 minutes. By January 21, 2023 we will have gained nearly half an hour of daylight. The sun will rise that day at 7:21 a.m. and set at 4:45 p.m., putting it between the horizons for nine hours and 24 minutes.
